Additional InformationThe mandate of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is to promote regional cooperation for inclusive economic and social development in the Asian and Pacific region. ESCAP's role as a regional development arm of the United Nations Secretariat is to support its membership, through its analytical, normative and technical cooperation, to respond to the development priorities and changing needs of the Asian and Pacific region. The internship programme is for a period of two to six months, depending on the needs of the division. The intern is to report to the Information Systems Officer in the IT Services Management Units (ITSMU) of the Information Technology Section (ITS), Division of Administration (DA).
The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the Information Technology Section (ITS). Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
