As a Software Engineer at MKS Atotech Thailand, you will partner with internal teams, customers, and engineering groups to develop, maintain, and support software systems integrated with industrial equipment. In this role, you will report to the Software Engineer Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Commissioning and configuring software systems during equipment installation to ensure seamless operation.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and system issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Training customers and internal teams on the proper operation and maintenance of software and equipment systems.
- Ensuring software and equipment systems comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Managing communication protocols (SECS/GEM, OPC) and supporting fieldbus systems (Modbus, EtherCAT, Profibus).
- Travel Requirements: Up to 60% of travel is required for on-site support and commissioning.
Skills You Bring:
- Level of Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
- Years of Experience: 2+ years of experience in software development, system integration, or a related field.
Required Technicals Skills:
- Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge: Understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and industrial machinery.
- Software Troubleshooting: Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving software issues, including operating systems and application software.
- Hardware Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and fix hardware malfunctions in industrial equipment.
- PLC Programming: Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and their programming.
- Networking: Knowledge of industrial network protocols and troubleshooting network issues.
- Instrumentation and Control Systems: Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and control systems used in industrial settings.
- Diagnostic Tools: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Safety Protocols: Knowledge of safety standards and protocols to ensure safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
Required Soft Skills:
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

Preferred Skills:
- Basic Knowledge of JavaScript and Python: Understanding of these programming languages for scripting and automation tasks.
- Understanding the Role of MES and ERP Systems: Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and their integration in industrial environments.
- Basics of SECS/GEM Communication Concept: Knowledge of the SECS/GEM standards for communication in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
