We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Commercial to join our dynamic team in Bangkok, Thailand. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service functions to drive revenue growth and expand market share.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement the national commercial strategy in alignment with regional and global objectives.
- Drive initiatives to maximize revenue, market share, and profitability in the container shipping sector.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key industry segments.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Conduct variance analysis to monitor performance against budgets and financial targets.
Sales Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and manage the national sales and commercial team to deliver on performance targets.
- Set clear KPIs and ensure regular performance tracking and coaching.
- Foster a high-performance, customer-centric culture.
Key Account Management & Customer Development:
- Strengthen relationships with key customers, including direct shippers, NVOCCs, and freight forwarders.
- Oversee contract negotiations, service agreements, and rate management with strategic clients.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with internal departments including Trade Management, Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing to ensure seamless service delivery and customer experience.
- Represent commercial interests in management meetings and regional discussions.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct regular market analysis to assess customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends.
- Provide actionable insights to support business decisions and strategy refinement.
Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align financial operations with business objectives.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Customer Account Management:
- Collaborate with the Credit Control team to ensure timely customer payments and account management.
Data Integrity and CRM Management:
- Ensure accurate and updated customer data in the CRM system to support decision-making.
MUST HAVE:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Maritime Studies, International Trade, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus. - Industry Experience:
10 to 15 years of experience in trade, sales, and marketing within the container shipping, logistics, or liner industry, - with at least 5 years in a senior commercial or sales leadership role.
- Customer Relationship Expertise:
Proven experience in managing customer relationships, with knowledge of port operations and equipment management. - Leadership Experience:
Strong leadership abilities with experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving performance.
