Job Summary
Keeping in view the ever-changing business scenario and your own career enhancement, Multi Skilling / Multi-Tasking is seen as an imperative. As a result, short period/ intervals or long-term lateral movements to other areas such as Kitchen, Stewarding, Bell Desk, Airport Rep., Front Office, Employee Restaurant, Reservations, Communication Centre, Training etc. have been included in the service design of the hotel operation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)
Monitor closely all expenses
Monitor closely the inventories
Promote an up-selling attitude at all times within the Team
Preparing purchasing orders for the department while adherence to a set budget
Maintain payroll and staffing standards and control overtime expenses respectively
Ensure that the Standards of the company are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis
Maintain a complete knowledge of facilities, timing and products of the hotel
Keep informed to the Director of Rooms about guests´ stays in the resort
Be fully conversant with promotions, rate and packages
Review arrival and departure reports for accuracy and completeness
Work along with Front Office Manager on room allocation accordingly to preferences of the guests
Monitor VIP arrival
Anticipate critical periods of the day and plan alternative solutions to best expedite these situations
Review the previous day´s occupancy, room revenues and labor hours
Prepare weekly work schedule in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts. Adjust the schedule to meet business demands if necessary
Prepare and submit your daily and weekly payroll records
Be aware of the general activity and special events in the Hotel
Ensure that the problems are tackled in a timely manner and those which could not have immediate solutions are reported and followed through.
Ensure that the guest is informed about action taken to satisfy his requests or issues.
Strive for good guest relations with external and internal employees
Enhance current guest relations program
Address any potential opportunities or concerns with clear directions and actions plans
Be fully conversant with emergency procedures
Monitor and ensure that the pantries and reception areas clean and well maintained
Inspect the Clean Status of the suites for the VIP arrivals, Room Moves etc in coordination with Housekeeping
Ensure all the guest amenities and special requests are in the suite prior to the guests arrivals
Develop and Implement SOPs to increase and maintain high standards of safety and health control within the department
Food and beverage knowledge and service standards, included but not limited to: -Room Service Presentations, Romantic Dinners and outlet menus
Demonstrate and ability to interact at a high level with all the managers and associates of all the resort
Perform annual appraisals and punctual reviews as established by Human Resources Manual
Conduct ongoing training with existing associates
Monitor associates´ interaction with the guests, ensuring prompt and courteous service; resolve discrepancies with respective employee
Inspect grooming and appearances, address if not appropriate
Conduct pre-shift meetings with associates and review all information pertinent to the day´s business, assign primary position as necessary and perform inspections to each butler
Have people management and supervisory skills to coach, guide, correct and train the team
Promote positive guest relations at all times and build up rapport with internal and external guests to build up the recognition program
Monitor guest preferences are kept updated
