All about the role:
This role covers end-to-end category management, from developing the strategic innovation roadmap for the APMEA Hobs category and leading the development and launch of new products, to executing commercial plans to optimize the market and financial performance, ensuring effective ranging, managing product launch and life cycle, based on strong insight on consumers, market, competitors and retail dynamics.
In this role you will have a wide exposure within the Europe-Apmea organization with many cross-functional contacts centrally as well as local Product Line and Sales contacts in the Apmea commercial areas.
What you’ll do:
- P&L responsibility for the Hobs APMEA product category
- Owner of product life cycle – cradle to grave: opportunities, concepts, specs, profitability, phase-in/phase-out
- Drive new business opportunities, and address gaps, together with Sales, Marketing and commercial areas
- Drive new product development, together with R&D, Marketing and Design based on the category´s innovation territories
- Develop and own the product category strategic plan as part of the overall product line strategic plan in close cooperation with the APMEA Food Preparation Category Director
- Own and define the product category Generation Plan based on consumer insights, business needs, market development, and brand attributes
- Responsible for range portfolio and commercial strategy definition in all commercial areas, together with local product line heads
- Review of product range performance and actions to improve, e.g. mix, price, and range renewal
- Prepare/execute market launches with commercial areas and Product Marketing (timing, ranging, pricing, distribution, marketing activities etc.) for new projects and range update for existing projects Monitor market and industry trends, long term areas of interest and technology developments
Who you are:
- Academic degree in business and/or technical field
- 8 - 10 years of experience in marketing and/or commercial areas and/or product development with international exposure
- Experience in more than one function in manufacturing companies (home appliances, consumer electronics, automotive etc.) is considered as a strong plus
- Project management skills, able to plan and focus on strategic priorities
