The opportunity:
The Site Manager Onshore/Offshore holds full responsibility for the seamless execution of all activities and services under the scope of Hitachi Energy on the designated onshore station or platform. This pivotal role ensures delivery within schedule and budget, in strict accordance with contract requirements, while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. For offshore assignments, the Site Manager Offshore must adeptly manage the complexities of remote logistics and adherence to marine regulations. Success in this environment requires flexibility, advanced problem-solving skills, and strong leadership to oversee both yard and offshore operations.
How you’ll make an impact:
You will act as the primary representative of Hitachi Energy on onshore or offshore converter station projects, overseeing civil construction (onshore), installation, and commissioning activities.
You will serve as the main interface with customers and external parties on all contractual matters, cultivating positive relationships with local authorities, partners, subcontractors, and relevant organizations.
You will manage workforce planning and site activities to ensure achievement of contractual milestones and project objectives, ensure all site personnel are well-informed regarding the Scope of Work (SoW) and Division of Work (DoW) and oversee change management on site, including the administration of variation orders to subcontractors.
You will guarantee all testing is completed and approved by the customer, in alignment with contractual requirements, promote a culture of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) excellence, ensuring strict compliance with business, customer, and local authority standards.
You will ensure that all activities meet quality expectations, with proper creation, collection, achieving quality records, and validate that all permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements are in place for compliant execution of site activities.
You will maintain thorough, accurate, and up-to-date site documentation, ensuring effective communication with Headquarters, ensure all site activities adhere to contractual schedules and milestones, monitor project budgets, and maintain cost controls, uphold contractual obligations to secure customer satisfaction.
You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:
You hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Site Manager on construction projects with medium to high complexity, demonstrating measurable successes, learning from challenges, and lessons gained.
Experience in civil construction, installation, and/or commissioning activities. Previous experience with HVDC converter stations and offshore platforms is advantageous.
In-depth understanding of terms and conditions commonly used in construction contracts, willingness to relocate and work at various project locations worldwide, including yard and offshore environments, for the duration required. Please note this is a site-based role; remote work is not available.
Recognized certifications and training in Health, Environment, Safety, and offshore operations. Commitment to complete the Hitachi Energy Site Management certification process, demonstrated leadership, structure, and goal orientation; proven ability to lead teams, adapt quickly, earn trust, and perform under pressure.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for various audiences, from blue-collar workers to senior management and customers. Proficiency in written and spoken English.
