Informa Markets, a division within Informa, creates global platforms for industries. We organise over 500 large-scale branded and transaction-oriented events in 14 specialist markets. These are typically not-to-be-missed annual events where buyers and sellers build relationships, see and show products and do business.

We also provide year-round online platforms where companies showcase their businesses and products and buyers conduct research, generating valuable leads, and we provide data and digital content that supports the flow of knowledge and transactions in markets.

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Business Development Executive to join our team, specializing in driving business growth within the events sector. The role will involve supporting the Event Leader in identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and contributing to the overall strategic direction of our events division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researching and identifying potential clients and business opportunities within the events industry.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of business development strategies to achieve revenue goals.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including agents, vendors, and sponsors.
  • Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to create compelling proposals and pitches for prospective clients.
  • Build relationships with potential customer groups within government and funding agencies.
  • Attending industry events and conferences to network and generate leads.
  • Monitoring industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Contributing to the development of marketing materials and promotional strategies specific to the events division.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, preferably within the events or hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles and negotiation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain relationships.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to travel and attend events as required.
