Overview of the Role
The Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliable performance and efficiency of RMA Energys solar projects, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and carport systems. The role covers system monitoring, preventive and corrective maintenance, monthly billing operations, ISO compliance, and performance analysis to support the long-term success of the companys clean energy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor system performance using SCADA/monitoring platforms and promptly identify abnormalities.
- Record daily generation, compare with expected yield, and report variances to management.
Maintenance
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of PV modules, inverters, AC/DC panels, and transformers.
- Conduct testing and inspections, including IV curve tracing, insulation resistance, and thermography.
- Supervise contractors for module cleaning and repair activities.
Monthly Billing
- Collect and validate meter data (Revenue Meter/SCADA).
- Calculate energy charges in line with contract terms (Tariff, TOU, PPA).
- Prepare billing documents such as energy summaries, PR/availability reports, and site logs.
- Reconcile with utility bills (MEA/PEA) and resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate with accounting teams and clients for billing confirmation and invoice submission.
Trend Analysis
- Analyze energy production and consumption data to forecast performance.
- Track industry developments in solar technology, equipment, and standards.
- Provide analytical reports and recommend system improvements.
ISO & Compliance
- Ensure tasks and documentation are compliant with ISO standards.
- Support both internal and external audits.
- Maintain records and reports to demonstrate compliance.
Reporting & Safety
- Prepare daily and weekly reports, supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where required.
- Follow safety procedures and international standards such as ISO 9001 & ISO 45001.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in solar O&M or electrical systems (fresh graduates with relevant internships are welcome).
- Hands-on experience with testing tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, and IR cameras.
- Basic knowledge of SCADA/monitoring systems and Excel/Google Sheets (Pivot, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) for billing.
- Familiarity with ISO standards preferred.
- Detail-oriented, safety-focused, and willing to travel to site locations.
