What will you do?
As a Mechanical Engineer Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of mechanical systems within data centres project facilities. This involves a thorough examination of mechanical installations, systems, and equipment to ensure that they adhere to the applicable local, state, national, and international codes and standards. The position encompasses both the Construction phase and the Operations and Maintenance phase of projects related to utility-scale data centres.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspecting Mechanical Installations: conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems, such as HVAC and plumbing, at data centre sites to ensure they meet design specifications and function correctly.
Reviewing Plans: analyze blueprints and technical drawings to verify that installations align with the original designs, identifying any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
Issuing Permits: evaluate completed installations to confirm compliance with safety regulations and grant permits for those that meet necessary codes.
Educating Stakeholders: provide guidance to project teams and contractors on mechanical codes and conduct training to promote awareness of best practices and regulatory standards.
Enforcing Codes and Standards: monitor adherence to all mechanical codes throughout the project and address any violations promptly.
Maintaining Compliance Records: keep detailed records of inspections and permits, ensuring documentation is current and available for audits.
Assisting in Investigating Incidents: work with teams to investigate mechanical failures and incidents, identify causes, and recommend preventive measures.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and licensed as a Professional Mechanical Engineer.
Relevant work experience in mechanical system installations and inspections, particularly within data centre environments.
Familiarity with utility-scale projects and applicable mechanical codes and standards at local, state, national, and international levels.
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics related to mechanical systems.
Competent in using various inspection tools and equipment, with strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder interaction and documentation.
Meticulous attention to detail for thorough inspections and compliance assurance.
Strong organizational and teamwork abilities for maintaining records and collaborating with project teams
