What will you do?
As an Electrical Engineer Inspector, you will be responsible in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of electrical installations within data centre facilities. This position involves a thorough inspection of electrical systems and equipment to ensure they adhere to applicable local, state, national, and international electrical codes and standards. The responsibilities cover both the Construction phase and the Operations and Maintenance phase of utility-scale data centre projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspecting Electrical Installations: Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems at utility-scale data centres, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and backup systems, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.
Reviewing Plans: Analyse electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to verify that installations match approved designs, identifying any discrepancies or issues that need correction.
Issuing Permits: Evaluate completed electrical installations for regulatory compliance and safety standards, and issue permits that allow systems to become operational.
Educating Stakeholders: Provide guidance on electrical codes and best practices to project teams and contractors and conduct training sessions to promote compliance and safety awareness.
Enforcing Codes and Standards: Monitor electrical system construction and maintenance to ensure adherence to all applicable codes and standards, addressing any compliance violations effectively.
Maintaining Compliance Records: Keep detailed records of inspections, permits, and compliance issues for the project lifecycle, ensuring documentation is up to date for audits and future reference.
Assisting in Investigating Incidents: Work with teams to investigate electrical failures or incidents, analyse their causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve safety and prevent recurrence.

What can you bring to the team?
Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone that actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and licensed as a Professional Electrical Engineer.
Relevant work experience in electrical system installations and inspections, particularly in data centre environments.
Familiarity with utility-scale projects is a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, national, and international electrical codes and standards.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance and identify discrepancies in installations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder interaction and documentation.
Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities to maintain compliance records and manage multiple inspections.
