Responsibilities:
- To monitor the execution of the Operational Risk Tools by the First Line of Defense to provide assurance to Management that the tools are working as intended for reporting and analytics purposes. The tools in scope are:
- Risk & Control Self-Assessment.
- Control Effectiveness Testing.
- Control Issue Management.
- Event & Loss Data Management; and
- Key Risk Indicators.
- To support the implementation and on-going maintenance of an effective and consistent Operational Risk Management framework.
- To perform risk analytics and communicating key risk themes to the business users, facilitating the effective execution of operational risk management policies, processes and procedures
- To challenging the first line of defense on material risks, risk appetite and overall adherence to the Operational Risk Management Framework.
- To monitor operational risk profile within the Risk Appetite set by the Combined Board.
- To prepare and review Operational Risk and Reputation Risk Summary dashboard which includes metrics relating to the overall Risk Appetite Statement of CIMB Thai.
- To assist in the development and production of the reporting strategy and resulting requirements for the Operational Risk Management of CIMB Thai.
- To facilitate and support the review and implementation of operational risk policy and procedures, reputation risk policy and procedure, methodology and validation guidelines including related templates/forms/report covering Technology Risk Management, Business Continuity Management and Fraud Risk Management.
- To review, validate and submit loss event management data in regulatory reporting system.
- To perform the reconciliation between GL and Loss event data.
- To work with Head, Operational Risk Management to plan and implement a clear roadmap around operational risk requirements for operational risk for CIMB Thai.
- To assist in operating Operational Risk Management of CIMB Thai with robust adherence to CIMB process and procedures.
- To analyze and review operational risk reports to related committees as well as regulated entities.
- To review and provide the update information to the Policies and Procedures of other teams, annual report and regulatory reports which are in relation with Operational Risk Management Framework to ensure its current and accuracy.
- To collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform and support the Stress Test exercise required by the regulator and CIMB Group.
- To be disciplined in the administration of the department and to operate in an efficient and organized manner.
- To comply with HR performance processes and meet internal Operational Risk Management KPIs.
- Secretary of Operational Risk Committee
- To keep constantly abreast of market and regulatory developments which impact the CIMB Thai's operational risk.
- To develop and communicate management level reporting; including adherence to regulatory reporting guidelines.
- To perform any other duties as and when assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline ( MIS/Accounting / Finance / Business / Economics )
- Minimum 7 years work experience with at least 2 years of experience working within MIS or data analytics, preferably in a support function or in Operational Risk Management of a universal bank.
- An understanding of risk drivers and ability to articulate risk to non-risk personnel.
- Understanding of how a bank operates front to back.
- Understanding of Banking products and services.
- Proficient in MS office e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills in English.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills .
- Collaborative partner - ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely at all levels internally and externally. Able to work independently as well as team player.
