Working environment
BDF's Child Protection Program is centered on providing tailored case management, including direct and immediate protection, to children and families identified as at-risk. BDF delivers support to build strong families and creates action plans to enable access to food, public education, health care services, and more. Additionally, BDF offers counseling, financial support, and referrals to health, education, and social services through partner organizations for increased support.
Within this comprehensive framework, education stands as a fundamental right for all children, crucial for their holistic development—intellectual, social, emotional, and psychological. Every child, regardless of vulnerability, deserves access to appropriate education. Therefore, the Individual Support Project (ISP) prioritizes education for these children, even if they cannot attend traditional schools. The project primarily supports this by providing personnel to deliver non-formal education services to these children, especially critical for those who cannot yet communicate in Thai and who missed school enrollment deadlines. These educators act as vital service providers, ensuring vulnerable children still receive the foundational learning they need.
Baan Dek Foundation (BDF) is a Thai-registered foundation with the mission to improve the well-being of vulnerable children and their families living in urban slums and construction site camps in Thailand. To address the One of the primary challenges to education for vulnerable children, as highlighted, is their inability to attend traditional schools, often exacerbated by their inability to communicate in Thai and having missed school enrollment deadlines. BDF seeks to hire external service providers as teachers for non-formal education.
