About our group:
This team is responsible for Drive Firmware & Test Engineering in Seagate for new products. We work closely with the design centers to ensure that all engineering requirements and new product launches are met on time.
About the role - you will:
• Work on new product software regression to ensure software and firmware run smoothly in the factory
• Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software. Troubleshoots code for firmware (IC embedded code) applications
• Work often involves analog and digital hardware and software operating systems
• Ensure with factory software team implementation and delivery of the Test Process codes, including PF3 and SF3 release packages.
• Build configs using WebConfig, send out test instructions to the test floor, and update the SBR tracking files
• Release working PCO new configs to Factory
• Monitor test process yields & initiate first-level FA, including reviewing results files for script issues on new products
• Develop a tool to support Drive Firmware & Test Engineering workflow improvement based on new product design.
• Optimize and support project of test time to support customer demand per capacity planning
About you:
• Strong skills in high-level programming languages (e.g, C, C++, Python)
• Excellent communication skills, as well as exceptional presentation skills
• Positive thinking and good logical working
• Fluent in English
Your experience includes:
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering discipline and/or relevant experience
• Be able to use code release tools such as Perforce version control, and Code Collaborator experience
• Be able to use software/firmware request tracking, such as SBM and Jira
• Efficient in basic HDD and test process script architecture understanding
