Who We Are
New Energy Nexus (www.newenergynexus.com) is an international organization that supports clean energy & climate entrepreneurs with funds, business acceleration and access to networks. We operate programs in the USA, China, India, Uganda, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines.
New Energy Nexus Thailand is building an ecosystem of clean energy entrepreneurs working on solutions to address this regional energy growth and the climate change situation. We launched our Thailand program in 2017 and have supported over 30 startup teams so far. We support entrepreneurs to create new innovative energy startups that will help to build the nation’s clean energy economy and run programs with corporate partners to help them decarbonize their emissions.
We are now looking for a full-time Senior Program Associate based in Bangkok. The position will support the New Energy Nexus Thailand program to ensure successful implementation of the energy startup program and related activities including designing and implementing energy meetups, training bootcamps and acceleration programs in collaboration with partner organizations.
Roles and Responsibilities
Program Design & Implementation
- Lead in implementing business incubation and acceleration programs in leading energy entrepreneurship in Thailand. 2 current programs include the Green Building Initiative, Lab to Commercialization Program and ecosystem building activities with clean energy startup.
- Co-lead in designing, planning, and suggesting partnership
- Report to Program Manager on program progress and consultation.
- Organize events, workshops, trainings, bootcamps on clean energy & innovation
- Facilitate speakers and startups for in-person workshops and boot camps
- Lead on marketing & social media activities: invitations, press releases, newsletters, videos, photos, and webpage
- Manage the engagement of startups and corporate partners in the accelerator cohort and provide leads needed to help startups succeed
- Manage database of key contacts, liaise with our network of energy professionals, mentors, partners, and startups for their active engagement in the program
- Research & identify relevant service providers for activities, including trainers, facilitators, business advisors, mentors etc.
Fundraising & Partnership Activities
- Research on potential funders in the country to understand their goals & objectives (Energy companies, foundations, government agencies), Identify interested organizations and craft customized partnership proposals
- Assist the team in proposal-making for funders and foundations
- Lead in partnership with partners organizations to build up the programs
- Participate in industry events and initiate meetings with key market stakeholders
- Develop a network of energy professionals, mentors, program participants and partners; manage the contact database
- Stay up-to-date on any relevant clean energy events and news
Impact Data and Reporting
- Collaborate with the team and impact leads to develop an impact assessment workflow, including pre- and post-program data collection, key inputs and outputs, and a feedback loop for programs.
- Keep up to date and manage a global impact database (Airtable) quarterly.
- Consult with the impact lead to create standardized templates and guidelines for data collection and reporting.
- Consolidate impact data and generate regular reports for leadership and funders.
Program Outreach & Communication
- Assist and provide advice to team members in drafting the program's communication plan.
- Work with teams to develop key narratives and messaging pillars that support brand and program initiatives.
- Assist the team in managing earned and owned media channels (website, social media, Mailchimp)
- Use analytics to assess the effectiveness of communications strategies, campaigns, and content performance.
- Monitor key metrics such as engagement, reach, sentiment, and audience feedback to continuously refine strategies.
- Attend the Global communication team summit once a year with the global team to learn new use cases and success stories for further impact.
The position will be full time and based in Bangkok.
Requirements
Minimum requirements:
- Passionate about climate, energy, startups and cleantech!
- Strong program & project management experience with complex projects involving multiple external stakeholders
- Minimum 2 years of working experience with a startup accelerator OR a corporate innovation team
- Experience with organizing professional events and implementing marketing, communication and social media activities
- Entrepreneurial mindset & fast moving
- Ability to work independently within a global team with various time zones
- Professional fluency in Thai and English is a must*
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional knowledge or experience in the clean energy & climate sector
- Experience in the startup community, including incubators, accelerators, investors and relevant service providers
- Management consulting experience
- Highly resourceful person with the ability to come up with new ideas and concepts to design the program activities
