Job Description
The REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF SALES – CORP AND MICE is responsible for developing and executing the Corporate and MICE sales strategy for the segment across the Minor Hotels portfolio in the Region of Asia. This role will lead preferred partner relationships with MICE and Corp travel partners (TMC, CWT, BCD, AMEX, Helms Brisco, Accenture, IBM Asia etc), drive revenue growth in key source markets, and position Minor’s brands as top-of-mind for Corp and MICE travelers.
The candidate will report Group Director of Sales – Asia and be responsible for the development of commercial business opportunities for the Corp and MICE portfolio of hotels.
EXPERIENCE
- The candidate must have minimum 7 - 10 years of sales experience in Corp and MICE hospitality sales, with a strong focus on the Corporate and MICE segment.
- Strong understanding of consumer behaviors and network within Asia Corp and MICE travel industry – notably TMC, Consortia and M&E Agency environment.
- Expert in Inbound and outbound business and a thorough understanding of sales practices, methodologies and customer buying patterns and channels.
- Established experience in MICE and Corp, and reputation with a Global Strategic Vision.
- Sales focused, results oriented and proactive style with excellent presentation skills.
- Global mindset with the ability to see the “big picture” of the Company needs, Global trends, and Competitive environment.
- Excellent communications capabilities, and negotiation skills, while developing effective collaborative methods with clients, industry partners and internal company teams.
- Ability to analyze data, business performance and reporting
- Solid organizational, analytical, and problem-solving competencies
Qualifications
- Degree level - preferably in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality Management. Value given to post graduate qualifications.
- Eagerness and desire to work in a multinational environment within the travel industry in a high sale driven role.
- Experience working with international teams.
- MS Office, Advanced Excel, Advanced PowerPoint, SAP.
- Fluent spoken and written English. Other languages are an advantage.
- The position requires flexibility to travel internationally up to 40–50% of the time.

Key Accountabilities
- Educate and build brand awareness within the Asia market.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive global sales strategy for the Corp and MICE segment aligned with overall commercial goals.
- Lead MICE preferred partnership negotiations globally from the Various Inbound market in line with Global MICE strategy driven from EU & AMEA region.
- Understand the business needs and booking patterns for the individual properties and deliver qualified demand to secure budget objectives.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with Corp travel management companies, MICE tour operators, M&E agencies.
- Identify key internal and external sources of information to detect and understand market trends.
- Build and deploy an annual action plan in coordination with the property sales team focusing on:
- Roadshows and Flythroughs with help of GSO
- Customer FAM Trips with Hotels in Asia
- Industry Event Tradeshows like IBTM & IMEX
- Agency Presentations
- Collaborate with regional leadership teams to ensure alignment in customer engagement.
- Partner with Marketing, PR, Revenue, and Operations teams to drive integrated Corp and MICE campaigns and promotions.
- Act as a brand ambassador internally and externally, championing the unique selling points of the Minor brands.
- Monitor monthly results; implement timely adjustments to maximize revenues and profits.
- Update commercial CRM with all the activities planned and executed.
- Responsible for meeting deadlines and submitting reports in a timely manner.
