We are looking for an operations leader to lead and direct activities of the operations function in South East Asia and Far East region with an aim to efficiently produce and deliver quality products in a timely, environmentally sound and safe manner and ensuring that our customers’ expectations are being met. At the same time, drive continuous improvement in performance metrics through the implementation of lean manufacturing and other business initiatives.
This position is responsible for manufacturing plants and supply chain in Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and Korea, with additional distribution operations in multiple countries in South East Asia.
The role reports to the VP of Global Operations for Materials Solution Division and be based in South East Asia region (Thailand, Malaysia or Vietnam).
Key expectations from this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- People leadership
- Configure operating organization’s design to meet the needs of the business; develop successors and implement succession plans; lead multi-function, multi-site operation leadership team.
- Perform general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions and terminations. Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
- Act as a team role model and change-agent. Positively lead and influence team members to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
- Coordinate team efforts, create and manage a regional strategy and team operating plan.
- Operations Leadership
- Lead the successful operations and organization performance of the region, while maintaining organizational focus on safety, health and environment.
- Accountable for delivery and year-to-year improvement of business supply chain results: financial, quality, service, safety, employee relations climate, inventory, organizational development; responsible for long-term capabilities of operations – capacity, organization, skills, etc.
- Implement world-class practices to drive capabilities to world-class levels & transfer best practice and standardization of process and equipment.
- Develop relationships with business teams and customers. Gain insight into customer needs from a manufacturing, service and quality perspective and articulate a vision for increased customer satisfaction through improved operations & supply chain processes.
- Conduct regular business reviews, working with business and financial management to develop, evaluate and monitor action plans that lead to profitable growth.
- Lead cross-functional improvement efforts in Operations, Distribution and Logistics organizations to support cost, quality and service initiatives.
- Support sales and profit goals with a reliable supply of high quality products at the lowest possible cost and fastest possible service.
- Manage change to link the organization to market and customer needs.
- Develop and execute concepts for sustainable improvement of the regional performance
- Ensure compliance with international as well as internal policies and procedures and ensure that all documentation requirements are met
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned or associated with the responsibility of the position

- Manufaturing leadership experience in Chemical, Pharma or food industry.
- Strong people management & having built & developed teams in the past
- Demonstrates understanding and hands on experience of best in class Supply Chain practices
- Ability to build collaborative work relationship with internal & external stakeholders, including Customers
- Proven ability to influence and drive actions across functions
- Proven ability to balance between being hands on and delegate to team when required
