MEP EngineerJob Description Summary
We’re seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Engineer to oversee and manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of our data center construction projects. This role requires a strong technical background, practical field experience, and the ability to coordinate effectively with design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure high-performance infrastructure systems are delivered on time.Job Description
About the Role:
- Coordinate design review and installation of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, fire protection, water systems) specific to data center performance requirements.
- Ensure systems meet standards for reliability, redundancy, cooling capacity, and energy efficiency per Tier certification levels (Uptime Institute standards)
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants to integrate MEP systems into the overall building design
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with specs and safety standards
- Manage MEP contractors and subconsultants, reviewing technical submissions (e.g., shop drawings, method statements)
- Participate in testing and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring functional performance and documentation
- Troubleshoot and resolve MEP-related issues during construction and initial operations
- Assist with the preparation of budget estimates, schedules, and risk assessments for MEP scopes
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum [X] years of experience in MEP design and construction, with at least [X] years on data center or mission-critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE, IEC)
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, and project management platforms
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and documents
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred
