As a Manager - DC Operations you will be responsible for managing daily activities of a Data Center. You will manage all operational processes including general data center, servers, network devices setup, maintenance, troubleshooting and accuracy of all employees. You will be responsible for the setup and operational functions, assembly, equipment operation, general maintenance and housekeeping at assigned project locations. You may be responsible for managing relationships with chosen vendors and comply with enforces operational, audit, safety and all other company policies. You will ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and are within approved budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains data center working environment, focused on clean, organized and safe workplace.
- Manages teams responsible for network servers, maintenance, and general data center activities.
- Participates in hiring process and management of data center staff
- Manage data center operation team to manage the logistics aspects of the break-and-fix
- Collect and analyze diagnostic information to engage vendor support organization (HPE,Dell etc) by opening support cases and following up on hardware fixes and investigation as requested
- Tracks and monitors order volume statistics and determines staffing levels to meet those volumes.
- Develops performance standards to ensure high level of customer satisfaction (e.g. tickets handled per hour, outage turnaround time).
- Responsible for hardware support, moves additions and changes
- Accountable for regular physical and visual inspections of equipment and data center facilities
- Manage inventory records and perform regular cycle counts to ensure asset accuracy
- Oversee capacity management in terms of space, power, network services, devices
- Sets and manages performance standards for employees and supervisors.
- Develops meaningful metrics to drive saftey, quality, delivery and productivity.
- Provides overall direction and support for facilities, administration, customer service, audit support and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2 years required, 3 years preferred of staff supervision and training.
- 2 years required, 5 years preferred of distribution center operations experience.
- Business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to explain, and in selected areas, teach appropriate policies, procedures, and associated practices.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management skills.
