SUMMARY:
Airbus and NAVBLUE, an Airbus Company, is currently seeking a Head of Operations to join our team in Bangkok - Thailand.
NAVBLUE is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus dedicated to the development of value added flight operations digital products and services for Airlines, Air Navigation Service Providers, Airports and other OEMs.
The Head of Operations reports to the Managing Director of Airbus Flight Operations Services Ltd.
Within the Airbus Flight Operations Support and Services community, the Head of Operations leads the local-for-global and local-for-regional support and services activities in Bangkok with the objective to deliver them on time, volume, quality and cost.
The jobholder plays a strong leadership role in the organization while credibly representing the organization internally, and liaises directly with Airbus’ and NAVBLUE’s key internal stakeholders globally.
In this regard, the jobholder represents Airbus Flight Operations Services Ltd. in the NAVBLUE Extended Leadership Team.
Responsibilities:
The jobholder leads and develops the operational teams including the Airbus Flight Operations Engineering support (local-for-global), the NAVBLUE Customer Experience (local-for global) and the NAVBLUE Services Delivery (local-for global) activities. The team counts around 130 engineers from 15+ different nationalities.
The jobholder provides clear strategic direction and inspirational leadership to subordinate managers, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
The jobholder guarantees all activities are delivered on time, on volume, on cost, on quality and with high customer satisfaction. In this role, the jobholder continuously drives the safety, quality and competency management systems.
The jobholder guarantees all activities are delivered according to the company’s aviation safety standards
The jobholder secures the right production capacity for the different activities at all times while respecting the headcount targets
The jobholder drives the overall well-being of the teams with a strong focus on people development and retention
The jobholder secures the implementation of the Navblue Customer Experience transformation project
The jobholder provides regular and clear reports to his managers and other relevant internal stakeholders within Airbus and NAVBLUE
Other duties reasonably determined from time to time by the Company
The jobholder strongly contributes to the company’s retention and recruitment processes
The jobholder contributes to the OP and FC financial exercises of the affiliate
The jobholder contributes to the definition and implementation of the strategy for the flight operations activities in Thailand.
Academic/Educational Requirements
Bachelor or Master degree in aeronautical engineering, Aviation Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
Aviation/Aeronautical knowledge
Required Skills/Experience
Capacity to define and shape the vision/strategy for the company’s flight operations activity
International Managerial experience, leading large teams and projects involving strong change, quality and people management
5-10 years strong experience in managing international complex matrix organizations
Experience in defining international footprint and Make/Buy strategies
Strong leadership and influencing skills. Strong people management and communication skills in an international environment
Strong cultural awareness, flexibility and resilience
Business-oriented, knowledge of Flight Operations / Airline Operations
Digital/Innovation aficionado is a plus
