Job Purpose
The Director of Engineering will oversee all building operations, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and more. Ensures timely completion of projects, collaborates with craftsmen and management, and reviews daily log reports. Maintains a flexible schedule and drives the development and implementation of energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Generation and distribution of electrical power, energy, heat and water.
- Supply of controlled air conditioning to all areas of the building.
- Update all equipment and engineering hardware within the building and plant to ensure stability and safety to the operation.
- Engineering and execution of planned maintenance, repairs, installations, and replacements.
- Establish and follow up on training programs, including specialist training.
- Administration and supervision of other service facilities delegated to the Engineering Department.
- Maintain adequate fire and safety standards, including close relationship and good contacts with respective city/government authority.
- Keep MD and HM informed of all findings pertaining to the safe running of the hotel managed by the Engineering Department.
- Management of outside contractors, not limited to projects.
- Provide technical input, coordinate and supervise all project work within the property concerning QA/AC and final commissioning and acceptance.
- Set up and maintain a work order system that optimises workflow and supports the operation.
- Participate, support and develop CRS projects.
General Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical.
- A minimum of 10 years engineering experience and at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, boiler, laundry and kitchen equipment, refrigeration, mechanical, electronic repairs
- Passionate in facility managing, facilities improvement and energy saving
