Summary
The Specialist, IT Infrastructure—Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, maintaining, upgrading, and continuously enhancing the site's operating environment. This role ensures the infrastructure's ongoing reliability, performance, and security. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining the operating environments, responding to incidents and problems, planning for growth, and deploying new technologies.
Additionally, the Specialist will design, install, configure, maintain, and test PC/server operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware. Other duties include troubleshooting issues reported by users, supporting access to services, and managing the acquisition, replacement, and decommissioning of related equipment, software, and services.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Manage an enterprise-sized solution base of more than 6,500 endpoints
-
Provide technical support and perform maintenance, Upgrade / install application or operating system software and hardware.

Provide 1st level security solution support ensuring specified service levels are met

Perform service monitoring and reporting, with a focus on risk management and compliance
-
Explore new solutions, enhancements and opportunities for continuous improvement, projects and more
Perform the acquisition, provisioning and decommissioning of related equipment, hardware/software and services

Lead projects and change management initiatives
-
Able to quickly attain an understanding of the functionality and technology of operating systems as well as an understanding of business critical applications and their potential major issues.

Able to provide input to and work with the larger security team members to develop and refine additional monitoring content and use cases. Keep and relay detail status reports of daliy/weekly/monthly activity.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
-
Knowledge of computer operations/Windows OS (server and client) and the desktop operating environment. Linux and other mainstream OS knowledge will be helpful.

Knowledge of networking.

Strong knowledge of end-point security management tools and processes

Strong knowledge of Information Security

Intermediate level of understanding in Project Management as well as Change Management

Knowledge of IT requirements for an end to end solution, including security, business continuity and disaster recovery

Knowledge of team budget and tracking mechanisms

Knowledge of IT delivery/operations, analysis, design and development

Ability to predict, detect and respond to potential malicious factors

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
