Job Summary
The Retail Supply Chain Manager will lead the supply chain management activities for Tech Lifestyle & Connectivity products, encompassing a range of items. This role is critical in planning and executing strategies for Assortment, Product Allocation, Stock Management, and Product Lifecycle Management, aligning with the different retail channel groups, product categories, business plans, sales plans, and profit & loss targets. The goal is to effectively balance sales, profitability, and inventory levels.
Job Description
  • Assortment Management:
    • Develop strategies and plans for product assortment across Tech Lifestyle & Connectivity products, tailored to the target audience of each distribution channel and store type
    • Analyze sales data, market trends, customer needs, and competitor information to select appropriate products with the potential for sales and profit generation.
    • Collaborate with Buyer, Marketing, and Sales teams to define the product portfolio and product depth within each channel and store.
    • Continuously evaluate and refine the assortment to adapt to market changes and customer demands.
  • Product Selection based on Shop Footprint:
    • Establish criteria and processes for selecting new products for stores, considering factors such as market potential, product features, pricing, marginal benefit and suitability for target customer groups and distribution channels.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and the Purchasing team to present new products and assess their suitability.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that new product introduction (NPI) activities in stores run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Product Allocation:
    • Oversee, develop and implement strategies and processes for the effective allocation of products to different retail channels and individual stores based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, store performance, and promotional activities.
    • Determine optimal allocation quantities for new product launches, seasonal items, and promotional campaigns.
    • Monitor sales performance and inventory levels across different locations to make necessary allocation adjustments.
    • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to align product allocation with sales targets and marketing initiatives.
  • Stock Management and Product Movement:
    • Plan and manage optimal stock levels along the product lifecycle from launch to growth, maturity, and end-of-life for each product group across all stores and distribution channels, ensuring sufficient inventory to meet customer demand while minimizing the risk of overstock or stockouts.
    • Track and analyze product movement within each store group and distribution channel.
    • Prepare reports and analyze data related to inventory levels, product movement, and stock management efficiency.
    • Plan and execute activities related to each stage of the product lifecycle, such as new product promotions, markdowns for aging products, and end-of-life stock clearance.
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of products at each lifecycle stage and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Business Activities and Projects:
    • Understand and integrate business plans, sales plans, profit & loss and contribution margin targets into the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
    • Lead and facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand and supply plans for Tech Lifestyle & Connectivity products.
    • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations teams to develop integrated demand forecasts and supply plans.
    • Demonstrate the ability to analyze and make decisions to achieve an optimal balance between increasing sales, maintaining profit margins, and managing inventory levels efficiently.
    • Identify and resolve imbalances between demand and supply, and recommend actions to optimize inventory, increase sales and profitability.
    • Understand the impact of decisions in each area on the overall business objectives and prepare and present S&OP reports and recommendations to senior management.
    • Drive continuous improvement in the S&OP process.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Applied Statistics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain management within the retail industry, preferably with Tech Lifestyle & Connectivity products (e.g. Smartphone, Gadget, Accessories, IoT Solution).
  • Retail Business Acumen: Strong understanding of retail operations, distribution channels, and consumer behavior.
  • Technology Product Knowledge: Interest in and understanding of Smartphone, Gadget, Accessories, and IoT Solution products.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data, identify trends, problems, and opportunities accurately.
  • Planning and Strategic Skills: Ability to develop short-term and long-term plans and strategies for the supply chain that align with business goals.
  • Decision-Making Skills: Ability to make sound and well-reasoned decisions under pressure.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information and plans clearly and effectively.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to plan and manage projects related to the supply chain.
  • Software and Systems Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills) and SAP systems.
  • Responsibility and Proactiveness: Highly responsible, proactive, and eager to learn and develop.
  • Teamwork Skills: Ability to work effectively with internal and cross-functional teams, with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
