Wood is currently recruiting for a HSE Advisor to join our team for a large-scale challenging construction project. We are looking for individuals with expertise and experience who are ready to take on new challenges and assist us achieve excellence in schedule, safety, and quality.

What makes you remarkable?

  • Develop and implement annual HSE improvement plans aligned with company and business unit objectives
  • Communicate the requirements of HSE interface documents/plans to all relevant personnel
  • Support incident investigations and ensure appropriate reporting and documentation
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating internal and external HSE audits
  • Disseminate key learnings from incidents and accidents as part of the lessons learned process
  • Promote and communicate lessons learned across the organization
  • Identify and report deficiencies within corporate functions, ensuring issues are logged in the company’s action tracking and incident reporting systems.
  • Ensure emergency response arrangements are established and effectively communicated to all personnel
  • Oversee participation in HSE meetings, workshops, and forums
  • Maintain systems for monitoring and reporting HSE performance metrics
  • Develop and manage a site HSE visit program for project/contract management and Corporate HSE leadership
  • Encourage and support workforce involvement in HSE initiatives, activities, and programs
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with HSE legal requirements
  • Coordinate participation in and secure recognition through Safety Awards programs
  • Maintain regular communication with the APAC HSSE Manager and team
  • Monitor and report on HSE objectives and targets
  • Facilitate HSSE Committee meetings and related activities
  • Submit required reports to the labor office in accordance with legal obligations
  • Serve as the company’s legally designated Professional Safety Officer

ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Responsibilities:

  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001
  • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) in accordance with ISO 45001
  • Conduct gap analyses and compliance audits to assess conformance with ISO standards
  • Lead or support management reviews of EMS and OHSMS, ensuring objectives and performance indicators are met
  • Coordinate training and awareness programs to ensure personnel understand their roles in ISO compliance
  • Maintain documentation and records required by ISO standards, ensuring audit readiness
  • Liaise with certification bodies and external auditors during ISO certification and surveillance audits
  • Identify and evaluate environmental aspects and OH&S hazards, ensuring appropriate controls are implemented

Proposal Support Responsibilities:

  • Provide HSE input and expertise during the preparation of technical and commercial proposals
  • Develop and review HSE sections of bid documents, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards
  • Maintain a library of HSE proposal content, certifications, and performance data for efficient reuse in future bids

Emergency Response Responsibilities (High-Rise Buildings & Earthquakes)

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans specifically tailored for high-rise buildings and seismic events
  • Conduct risk assessments and scenario planning for earthquake-related hazards and high-rise evacuation challenges
  • Coordinate with local emergency services and building management to ensure alignment of emergency protocols
  • Organize and lead regular emergency drills, including fire, evacuation, and earthquake response simulations
  • Ensure all personnel are trained in high-rise evacuation procedures and earthquake safety measures
  • Maintain and inspect emergency equipment such as alarms, evacuation chairs, and emergency lighting systems
  • Establish clear communication protocols and chain-of-command structures for emergency situations
  • Monitor and update emergency response plans based on changes in building structure, occupancy, or local regulations
  • Provide post-incident support and debriefings to improve future emergency preparedness

  • Bachelor's degree in public health (Occupational Health and Safety) or certification as a Professional Safety Officer by the Ministry of Labour
  • Minimum of 8 years of substantial experience in an HSSE role in Live Plant, Greenfield, and Turnaround/Revamp work for Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Power Plant, or similar types of plants
  • Extensive skill and experience in applying worksite HSSE plans regarding HSSE work practices and other HSSE procedures and standards requirements for the worksite
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Project Monthly and Weekly Construction Report content, with an understanding of the need for timely, concise, and accurate reporting of HSSE leading and lagging indicators
  • Strong HSSE awareness and commitment, including skills and knowledge in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Job Safety Analysis, and permit to work systems
  • Fair to good interpersonal and communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Good knowledge of Thai Law and Legislation related to HSSE
  • Strong team leadership skills in technical, interpersonal, and communication areas
  • Knowledgeable about ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements, which would be an advantage
  • Experienced in OHSMS auditing
