Job Purpose:
- The Head of Finance and Accounting will be responsible for overseeing and improving all financial and accounting operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with the company's strategic goals.
- The role will focus on enhancing financial processes and controls to support the companies growth, with a long-term vision of preparing the company for potential public listing (IPO) in the future. This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and expertise in financial management to foster sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement the financial strategy in alignment with the company's long-term goals, including the potential for a public listing (IPO) as part of future growth aspirations.
- Lead and oversee the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow management, ensuring the companies financial health and scalability.
- Provide strategic financial insights and reports to senior management and the board of directors, supporting critical decision-making processes.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
- Oversee audit processes and work closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations, coordinating with relevant authorities to maintain the company's compliance.
Process Improvement & Team Leadership:
- Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional development.
- Implement best practices in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, driving operational improvements within the finance and accounting functions.
Long-Term IPO Readiness:
- While not an immediate priority, maintain awareness of financial regulatory requirements and practices associated with public companies, positioning the company to take advantage of potential future opportunities.
- Ensure internal financial controls and reporting mechanisms are scalable and can support future ambitions of going public, if pursued.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including cash flow, market, and credit risks,ensuring the companys financial security.
- Develop risk management strategies and policies to safeguard the company's assets and support sustainable growth.
Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, auditors, and other financial institutions to support the company's financial goals.
- Communicate financial performance and strategy effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in financial reporting and compliance, ideally with exposure to public company environments (though not immediately required).
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP), and compliance requirements. - Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience building and developing high performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and external stakeholders.
