About the job
Based at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, the Chef de Cuisine will be responsible for all operational, administrative, and financial aspects of Ciao, the Italian restaurant. He/ She will also provide support for Banqueting events as required.
As Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Responsible for preparation, presentation and service of all food for the a la carte Italian restaurant to highest standards and practices of the hotel.
- Ensure that the kitchen operates a food cost at an acceptable level, ensuring the highest quality and standards. Monitor costs and take corrective action when required.
- Maintains high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in area of responsibility.
- Managing a team of 10+ colleagues including hiring, training and development.
As Chef de Cuisine, we expect from you:
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Drive for excellence and ability to introduce new products according to the market.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in similar position in recognised properties/ restaurants.
- Working experiences in Thailand is a plus.
- Possess good English communication skills.
- Passionate, committed, creative, flexible and a team player with high energy level.
- Ability to perform duties under pressure, handle challenging tasks and situations.
- Computer literate and HACCP knowledge.
